Turbulent Rayleigh-Bénard convection in a conducting fluid in a strong magnetic field

Abstract

We consider a fluid layer (electrically conducting) heated from below in the presence of a strong external magnetic field. In the region of hard turbulence, we predict the existence of two different scaling regimes depending on the relative magnitudes of the Rayleigh number and the Chandrasekhar number.
