INTRODUCTION

In this protocol, blastoderm- or germband-stage large milkweed bug (Oncopeltus) embryos are collected, fixed in paraformaldehyde, and dissected from the yolk mass. Germband-stage embryos are stained with SYTOX Green, a fluorescent DNA stain, to facilitate dissection.
