Abstract

We demonstrate a novel method using coincidence momentum imaging to measure the three-dimensional energy profile of a molecular ion beam. This involves determining the laboratory center-of-mass momentum for each fragmentation event and accumulating an energy profile over many events. This method is compared with a conventional retarding field analyzer and the two independent methods show reasonable agreement.
