Abstract
I give a review of several decay modes of light mesons (π, η, η',...) which are rare or forbidden in the standard model of particle physics. In particular, the weak and electromagnetic decays of the π°, π±, η, and η' mesons are discussed in some detail. Some new results on K decays are also discussed. The sensitivity of these decays to parameters of the standard model as well as to non-standard physics is investigated.
