Abstract

Pseudomonas solanaceanrum biovar 3, was isolated from neem trees (Azadirachta indica) affected by a slow wilt following a prolonged dry period. Black to brown discoloration occurred in the roots and stems with a collar rot developing in the advanced stages. The isolates were pathogenic to neem tree and tomato but not to native white cedar (Melia azedarach). White cedar could possibly be used as a wilt-resistant root stock. This is the first record of bacterial wilt in neem tree.
