Abstract
The efforts of Britain and Italy to normalize their political and economic relations after the Second World War, especially during the years of Clement Attleeās Labour Government, offer an opportunity to examine reconciliation and reconstruction against the backdrop of austerity, a new economic post-war order and the onset of the Cold War.
