Reduced free-standing Co3O4@Ni cathode for lithium–oxygen batteries with enhanced electrochemical performance

Abstract

A reduced free-standing Co3O4@Ni cathode for Li–O2 batteries constructed from porous Co3O4 nanosheets is synthesized through a simple two-step method. The particle reduction of Co3+ to Co2+ improves the electrochemical activity of the electrode with enlarged discharge capacity and lower charge potential.
