Effect of diffusion through solution and along surface on electrocrystallization processes. Part 2: Faradaic impedance

Abstract

The mathematical formalism for treating the interaction of the simultaneous diffusion of ions in solution and of adatoms along the surface during electrocrystallization processes has been presented for potentiostatic conditions. In this paper the corresponding results are given for the faradaic impedance. The special cases derived earlier for electrochemical reactions coupled to diffusion through the solution or along the surface only are deduced as limiting examples. A model proposed by Lorenz is also critically discussed.
