Metal–sulphinate complexes. Part I. Benzenesulphinatopalladium(II) complexes

Abstract

The benzenesulphinate anion forms complexes with palladium(II) of the types [Pd(PhSO2)2(H2O)2], [PdX(PhSO2)2(H2O)], [PdX2(PhSO2)2]2–, [Pd(PhSO2)2L2], and [PdX(PhSO2)L2](X = anionic ligand, L = uncharged ligand). The ease of formation and the stability of the palladium–aquo-species indicates that the benzenesulphinato-ligand has a high trans-effect.
