Facile introduction of 15N into chalcogen–nitrogen systems using 15N-labelled ammonia

Abstract

Reaction of 15N-labelled ammonia with a toluene solution of (EtO)2SeO under reduced pressure gives Se415N4; in the presence of [PtCl2(PMe2Ph)2](with CH2Cl2 as solvent) the same reagents yield [Pt(Se215N2)(PMe2Ph)2] whilst 15NH3, [PtCl2(PMe2Ph)2] and SOCl2 react to form [Pt(15NSO)2-(PMe2Ph)2].
