Insight into the preferential intrastrand binding to adjacent guanine bases in DNA by platinum(II)

Abstract

Phosphorus-31 two dimensional exchange spectroscopy (31P 2D-EXSY) and line width analysis reveal that cis-[Pt(NH3)2(GMP)2] in the head-to-head conformation lies about 50 kJ mol–1 below the energy of cis-[Pt(NH3)2(AMP)2] complex in the same conformation.
