Facile synthesis of SN and S–N–O complexes in liquid ammonia; X-ray structure of Pt[(HN)2SO2](PPh2Me)2

Abstract

Addition of SCl2, SOCl2, SO2Cl2 or SeCl4 to liquid ammonia followd by Pt(PR3)2Cl2 gives complexes of the type Pt(S2N2)(PR3)2, Pt(NSO)2(PR3)2, Pt[(HN)2SO2](PR3)2, and Pt(Se2N2)(PR3)2 respectively; the X-ray structure of Pt[(HN)2SO2](PPh2Me)2 is reported.
