Citrinin biosynthesis in P. citrinum: incorporation of a deuterium-labelled advanced precursor in the presence of a specific inhibitor of an early step

Abstract

A 1H n.m.r. study showed that a biosynthetic advanced precursor labelled with deuterium is incorporated into citrinin with only 20% dilution of the label when early methylation steps are blocked by ethionine.
