Unusual cations of antimony

Abstract

On oxidation with potassium persulphate and peroxydisulphuryl difluoride in fluorosulphuric acid, antimony forms blue or yellow solutions; from spectrophotometric, conductance, and magnetic measurements the ions Sb82+ and Sb42+ have been characterised.
