A new low temperature one-step route to metal chalcogenide semiconductors: PbE, Bi2E3 (E=S, Se, Te)

Abstract

A solvothermal reaction of metal oxalates such as PbC2O4 , Bi2(C2O4)3 with E (E=S, Se, Te) in organic solvents at relatively low temperature (120–160 °C) produces crystalline PbS, PbSe, PbTe, Bi2S3 , Bi2Se3 , and Bi2Te3 :PbC2O4+Esolvent
