Synthesis, crystal structure and rearrangement of a methylene(ylene)- phosphorane containing a CH2-moiety at an sp2-hybridized phosphorus(v) centre

Abstract

The reaction of the iminophosphane, (Me 3 Si) 3 C–P[double bond, length as m-dash]N–Mes*, with Me 2 S[double bond, length as m-dash]CH 2 affords the first methylenephosphorane containing a CH 2 moiety at an sp 2 -hybridized phosphorus(V) centre; the crystal structure as well the rearrangement of which is reported.
