Scavenging of ‘Dissolved’ Organic Matter from Sea-water with Hydrated Metal Oxides

Abstract

IN an effort to recover the ‘dissolved’* organic matter from large volumes of sea-water by a simple and widely applicable process, co-precipitation experiments with hydrated metal oxides were undertaken using natural sea-water.
