Loss of Heat by Evaporation in Young Lambs

Abstract

ANIMALS exposed to temperatures approaching or exceeding that of the body can lose little or no heat by radiation, convection and conduction; they must rely partly or wholly on evaporative cooling from the skin or respiratory tract to maintain homeothermy.
