Abstract
The photoluminescence spectra of α-Al2O3 irradiated with different gamma doses are measured under excitation with the frequency-doubled radiation (255.3 nm) from a copper vapor laser. The effect of the time delay on the shape of the emission spectrum is examined. The 385-nm luminescence decay time is determined to be 19 ns.
