Halides of Tetravalent Transactinides (Rf, Db, Sg, Bh, Hs, Mt, 110th Element): Physicochemical Properties

Abstract

Thermodynamic properties are predicted for halides of tetravalent transactinide (TAn(IV)) elements (Rf, Db, Sg, Bh, Hs, Mt, and the 110th element not named yet) in gas and crystalline states and in solution. The properties of TAn(IV) compounds are compared with their 3d, 4d, and 5d homologs in groups and with pseudohomologs in the actinide series. The question as to the position of TAn in the Periodic Table of Elements is considered.
