Abstract

This paper presents a generic platform that supports the work of distributed cooperative users. Starting from an analysis of the interactions required between the members of any cooperative group, three software tools are proposed as a global distributed support of these interactions: a videoconference system for group vizualization, a shared electronic board that shares any multimedia application owned by the group members and a shared whiteboard for the display of slides and sketches. The group structure and the data flows exchanged are modelled by using graphs and the distributed group management modules are formally designed in Estelle. The evaluation of the platform is then conducted in the framework of the Airbus airplane pilot professional teleteaching domain.
