  • Changes of Right Ventricular Function After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement and Association With Outcomes

    2021, Journal of Cardiac Failure
    Citation Excerpt :

There are some studies available evaluating RV function after TAVR. However, they are limited by only reporting mean changes in RV function.11–16 Not surprisingly, the results of these analyses showed no or only minimal alterations in RV function, without any correlation with outcome; most patients have normal RV function before TAVR and remain stable throughout the follow-up.

  • Right ventricular systolic function in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation: A systematic review and meta-analysis

    2018, International Journal of Cardiology
    Citation Excerpt :

The prevalence of RV systolic dysfunction at baseline was on average 30% (from 10% to 53%). The echocardiographic changes in the RV systolic function from baseline to mid-term follow-up were assessed in 14 studies [18,20–32]. Out of eight studies, two were derived from randomized controlled trials where the clinical events were adjudicated by a Clinical Events Committee (CEC) and the echocardiographic assessments by a Core Lab, while the other reports consisted of retrospective cohort studies with site-reported results.
