Our previous studies have shown that the long-range temporal correlation of renal sympathetic nerve activity (RSNA) was significantly weakened by urethane-anesthesia in anesthetized Wistar rats compared to that in conscious Wistar rats [22,23]. The hippocampus has been widely used for studies of anesthetics [33] and appears to be an important locus for anesthetic action [25].
