Hsp108 plays an important role in the normal metabolism of neuroglial cells in the chicken brain (Shin et al., 2004), the regulation of proliferation and differentiation of neural cells (Shin et al., 2000) and in chicken ocular development (Shin et al., 2003). However, little is known about the role of Hsp108 during thermal stress and thermotolerance acquisition in poultry.
