Galen's place in Avicenna's The Canon of Medicine: Respect, confirmation and criticism
2020, Journal of Integrative MedicineCitation Excerpt :Galen was one of the pioneers of experimental spinal cord studies; he wrote prestigious scientific material on anatomy, physiology and pathology of the spinal cord and nerves [25]. He made significant contributions to the understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system and sphygmology [7,26]. Galen also contributed to surgical knowledge and skills [27].
