Synthesis and structure-activity relationship study of a potent MHO7 analogue as potential anti-triple negative breast cancer agent
2022, European Journal of Medicinal ChemistryCitation Excerpt :In recent years, lots of biological sesterterpenoids were isolated from the metabolites of marine microorganism, such as mangicols and neomangicols from marine-derived fungus Fusarium sp. and ophiobolins (Ophs) from marine-derived fungus Aspergillus sp [12–14]. Ophs are a class of sesterpenoids and characterized by the structure of an extraordinary 5-8-5 fused-ring nucleus [15]. Since the first Oph A was disclosed in 1958, more than 100 naturally occurring Ophs have been reported (Fig. 1) [14,16–19].
Design and synthesis of marine sesterterpene analogues as novel estrogen receptor α degraders for breast cancer treatment
2022, European Journal of Medicinal ChemistryCitation Excerpt :Moreover, the destruction of one of these carbonyl groups from the structure leads to a complete loss of activity. In contrast, changes in the C15, C25-fragment are tolerated [45]. Our previous studies focused on 6-epi-ophiobolin G (The following is coded as MHO7, Fig. 2), which was isolated from the secondary metabolite of a mangrove fungus Aspergillus ustus 094102 [46–48].

2019, Bioorganic and Medicinal Chemistry LettersCitation Excerpt :Two kinds of chemical reactivity have been shown to possibly occur in mammalian cells and explain, at least partly, the cellular effects described above. The first relates to the pyrrolylation of primary amines, demonstrated using a simple chemical model studies (Figure 5, bottom).53 This can occur on lysine residues of several targets (Figure 3, top), including calmodulin, but also on phosphatidylethanolamine (Figure 3 middle).54
