Diagnosis
Sleeve fracture of the upper pole of the patella. Patella sleeve fracture is a rare fracture that occurs only in skeletally immature patients and is mostly located at the distal pole.1 It is extremely uncommon in the literature. The mechanism of sleeve fracture includes a rapid contraction of the quadriceps against resistance with knee flexion, which results in avulsion of the patella periosteum.2 Diagnosis may be delayed or missed, especially when the patient is considered to have sustained an
