The crystal structure of Tm2Ni12P7 has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Tm2Ni12P7 crystallizes in the Zr2Fe12P7 structure type with a=9.0577(13) Å and c=3.6641(7) Å. The sample was prepared by melting the elements in a tin flux. All crystals show racemic twinning. The long standing dispute over the the correct space group symmetry (P or P63/m) could be solved: Tm2Ni12P7 crystallizes in the non-centrosymmetric space group P.
