Griffith et al., 2002). In particular, the interrelations between breeding synchrony and EPF have attracted considerable attention—reviewed by Schwagmeyer and Ketterson (1999). We became interested in the subject when our game theoretical modeling of the extrapair phenomena (Fishman et al., 2003) showed that breeding synchrony may influence extrapair reproductive behavior.
