Abstract

This article has been retracted at the request of the Editor.

Reason: With regret, the Editors of Theochem have decided to retract this previously published paper.

It has come to their attention that the substance of the paper had been published in essentially the same form as:

International Journal of Quantum Chemistry 75 (1999) 623–629. Anomalous failure of the configuration interaction-singles (CIS) method in the computation of the electronic states of N,N′-bis(4′-aminophenyl)-1,4-quinonediimine.

XPS characterization of n-type oxides on Al and supersaturated Al–Cu alloy has revealed hydrated aluminum oxides such as Al(OH)3 and AlOOH in the surface layers with a negligible amount of Cu (0.1 at%) for the latter alloy [4]. Also, a triplelayered structure with AlOOH between the outer hydroxide and inner anhydrous oxide has been inferred by photoelectrochemistry [27]. Accordingly, the preponderant n-type behavior at 1000 Hz is associated with thickening and hydration of Al oxide film.
