Glia: Regulating Synaptogenesis from Multiple Directions

Summary

Glia cells are uniquely positioned at synapses, contacting pre- and post-synaptic terminals. At the Drosophila neuromuscular junction, a novel glia-derived TGF-β ligand has been found that modulates a retrograde synaptogenic signal.
