Mitochondrial myopathies and respiratory chain proteins

Abstract

Mitochondrial myopathies and encephalomyopathies are relatively rare diseases, often resulting from a dysfunction of respiratory chain proteins. Studies of these diseases are providing new insights into the basic features of respiratory chain structure and biosynthesis.
