2018, Neurobiology of StressZinc transporter 3 (ZnT3) and vesicular zinc in central nervous system function
2017, Neuroscience and Biobehavioral ReviewsCitation Excerpt :The zincergic terminals found in zona incerta and in certain thalamic intralaminar nuclei stem from cells in the zona incerta itself, from the periaqueductal gray, and from various brainstem reticular nuclei. In the hypothalamus, zincergic terminals are found in the outer shell of the ventromedial nucleus, in the terete nucleus, and in the premammillary nucleus (Frederickson et al., 1992). These zincergic terminals are the product, at least in part, of amygdaloid efferents that pass through the stria terminalis (Pérez-Clausell et al., 1989).
Behavioral characterization of female zinc transporter 3 (ZnT3) knockout mice
2017, Behavioural Brain ResearchCitation Excerpt :Table 5 summarizes the significant and non-significant tests conducted in this study. There is a large amount of synaptic zinc in both the motor cortex and the striatum [19], regions critically involved in motor behaviors. However, little research has previously been done on the motor behaviors of ZnT3 KO mice.
