Interaction in vivo between chronically administered guanethidine and imipramine

Abstract

The selective and long-lasting damage of male “short” noradrenergic neurons produced by chronic treatment with low doses of guanethidine (5 mg/kg/day) was prevented by simultaneous injection of imipramine (12.5 mg/kg/day) indicating that the damage was caused by intraneuronally-located guanethidine.
