Fibrosis in chronic hepatitis C acquired in infancy: Is it only a matter of time?
2003, American Journal of GastroenterologyCitation Excerpt :HCV RNA was detected in stored serum samples by polymerase chain reaction after reverse transcription using primers derived from the 5′ untranslated region (11). HCV genotypes were identified using a dot blot assay, as described elsewhere (13). A total of 125 routinely processed liver samples were blindly reviewed by an experienced pathologist (M.G.).
