Orientation ordering in solutions of polymer chains with rotational-isomeric mechanism of flexibility

Abstract

A study was made of orientation ordering in solutions of semi-flexible macromolecules with rotational-isomeric mechanism of flexibility. In this case the form of the liquid-crystalline transition differs considerably from the one obtained for persistent or freely jointed mechanisms of flexibility. It starts with low polymer concentrations in solution, but the anisotropic phase separated is much more ordered and
