The novel dopamine D3 receptor antagonist, SR 21502, reduces cocaine conditioned place preference in rats
2014, Neuroscience LettersCitation Excerpt :Of particular interest would be to know the site(s) of action where SR 21502 reduces cocaine-induced CPP. Dopamine D3 receptors have been localized to the nucleus accumbens and ventral putamen [41,42], globus pallidus [41], ventral pallidum [41,43,44], islands of Calleja [45–47], central nucleus of the amygdala [41,48], and the ventral tegmental area (VTA) [49–51]. Thus, it appears plausible that SR 21502 may produce its effects on cocaine cues in one or more of these neuroanatomical areas.
A novel series of 6-substituted 3-(pyrrolidin-1-ylmethyl)chromen-2-ones as selective monoamine oxidase (MAO) A inhibitors
2014, European Journal of Medicinal ChemistryCitation Excerpt :Compound 18 was administrated subcutaneously to freely moving rats and the levels of DOPAC and 3-MT was measured in vivo by HPLC/EC system in striatum during 2 h (Fig. 4). The method used is described in Supplementary material and by Waters et al. [54]. The modeling presented in this paper was performed in the Schrödinger 2012.04 suite of modeling tools [55].
In vivo pharmacology of the dopaminergic stabilizer pridopidine
2010, European Journal of PharmacologyCitation Excerpt :The separation of the monoamine transmitter substances (noradrenaline, dopamine, 5-hydroxytryptamine [5-HT]) as well as the amine metabolite, 3-methoxytyramine (3-MT) and acid metabolites (3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine [DOPAC], 5-hydrocyindoleacetic acid [5-HIAA], homovanillic acid [HVA]) was performed on a reverse phase column (Nucleosil ODS, 5 μm, 150 × 4.6 mm internal diameter) with an aqueous mobile phase (1 ml/min) containing 40 mM citric acid, 12 mM K2HPO4, 1.7 mM H3PO4, 0.35 mM sodium octylsulfate, 6% (volume/volume) of methanol and 0.05 mM EDTA. Experiments were conducted in accordance with Waters et al. (1993), with some modifications as described below. For experiments performed in the dorsal striatum, prefrontal cortex and nucleus accumbens, probes with an exposed length of 3, 2.5 and 2 mm of the dialysis membrane, respectively, were used.
