2022, International Journal of Biological MacromoleculesInsights into the roles of histone chaperones in nucleosome assembly and disassembly in virus infection
2021, Virus ResearchCitation Excerpt :Therefore, the nucleosome is temporarily disassembled to allow DNA replication, transcription and repair machinery to access the DNA. Following the passage of the DNA replication fork, the nucleosomes are reassembled using both parental histones and newly synthesized histones in a process called replication-coupled nucleosome assembly (Burgess and Zhang, 2013; McKnight and Miller, 1977; Stillman, 1986; Xu et al., 2010). Besides, nucleosome assembly and histone exchange occur in the cell in a replication-independent manner during gene transcription and DNA repair (Linger and Tyler, 2007).
