Zusammenfassung

Die Beiträge in diesem Sonderheft beleuchten unterschiedliche Formen des Konflikts in der Mitgliedschaftslogik von Verbänden, die von internen, rasch zu mediatisierenden Interessenunterschieden über massive innere Konflikte und selektive Abwanderungen bis hin zu Austritten und der Neugründung von Verbänden reichen. Sie bestimmen die Artikulation von Exit und Voice in Beziehung zum polit-ökonomischen Kontext und seine Wirkungen auf die Verbandsdomänen, zur internen Verbandsstruktur und dessen Managementkapazitäten wie auch zum Mitglied mit seinen Präferenzen, Strategien und normativen Identität.

Abstract

The conclusion of the special issue sums up the main insights of the contributions. After having shed light on the different conflicts within the logic of membership the contributions address the explanatory factors for the changes. The conflicts within the logic of membership range from rather modest internal differences via (selective) exit to the establishment of rigorous counter-associations. The way how dissatisfaction within an association is articulated depends on the politico-economic change (and its impacts on the domain of the associations), the internal structure of the organization and its management capacities as well as on the normative identity, the strategies, and the need for services of the members.
