Zusammenfassung

Bis zu ihrer klinischen Definition im Jahre 2005 fand die Stress-Kardiomyopathie aufgrund der schwierigen diagnostischen Abgrenzung zum ST-Hebungsinfarkt wenig Beachtung. Obwohl seitdem die Anzahl der Publikationen rasant gestiegen ist, wird die Ätiologie dieser reversiblen Herzerkrankung weiterhin kontrovers diskutiert. Verschiedene Hypothesen wurden in den letzten Jahren generiert, die jedoch das Auftreten dieser Erkrankung nicht gänzlich erklären.
