2D NMR Spectroscopic Study of Lignin from Triticum sp. and Larix sibirica

  • Published:
Chemistry of Natural Compounds Aims and scope

Lignins isolated from Larix sibirica wood and Triticum sp. straw were investigated using 2D NMR spectroscopy. Various structural fragments of the macromolecules were identified. The chemical structures of the two lignins were compared. Quantitative ratios of guaiacyl, syringyl, and p-coumaryl structural units were found. Dibenzodioxocine structures were noted in wood lignin, in contrast with wheat lignin. This confirmed the concept of linear wheat lignin macromolecules.
