Phytochemical investigation of the culture broth of actinomycete Actinomadura miaoliensis BCRC 16873

  • Published:
Chemistry of Natural Compounds Aims and scope

Phytochemical profiling of the n-BuOH extract of the culture broth of the thermotolerant polyester-degrading actinomycete Actinomadura miaoliensis BCRC 16873 by a combination of liquid/liquid extraction, column chromatography, and preparative TLC afforded one new γ-lactone, namely actinomiaolone (1), along with seven known compounds, 3,4-methylenedioxy-5-methoxycinnamyl alcohol (2), myristic acid (3), casticin (4), (+)-glaberide I (5), (+)-syringaresinol (6), (+)-yangambin (7), and trans-cinnamaldehyde (8). The structures were established by extensive spectroscopic analyses, including 1D and 2D NMR (COSY, HSQC, and HMBC), and HR-ESI-MS, and by comparison with published data.
