Techniques of catheterization of the retrobulbar space, direct electrical stimulation of the optic nerve using the Amplipulse device, and sub-Tenon’s implantation of collagen sponge were developed at the Department of Ophthalmology of Kursk State Medical University. These techniques are simple, safe, and highly effective in the treatment of patients with traumatic neuropathy and posttraumatic optic atrophy; they are widely used in hospitals in the city of Kursk.
