Rezidivierende Exazerbationen bei bekanntem Asthma bronchiale

Recurrent exacerbations in a patient with a known history of bronchial asthma

Zusammenfassung

Eine 55-jährige Patientin wird mit vorbestehendem Asthma bronchiale bei rezidivierenden Exazerbationen zur neuerlichen Abklärung und Therapieoptimierung stationär aufgenommen. Sechs Jahre nach Auftreten erster Symptome kann die Diagnose eines seltenen Churg-Strauss-Syndroms gestellt werden. Bei der Patientin zeigt sich ein multipler Organbefall mit Befall des oberen und unteren Respirationstraktes sowie kardialer, dermaler und neurologischer Beteiligung. Unter intensivierter und optimierter Therapie ist die Patientin seitdem beschwerdefrei.

Abstract

A 55-year-old woman with pre-existing asthma was admitted to hospital due to repeated episodes of exacerbation for clarification and improvement of therapy. Six years after the first symptoms occurred, the diagnosis of Churg-Strauss syndrome could be confirmed. We found multiple organ involvement including the lower and upper respiratory tracts as well as cardiac, dermal and neurological involvement. The patient has remained free of complaints under increased therapy.
