Zusammenfassung

Am 02.09.1984 wurde in London die European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, kurz ESHRE, mit dem Ziel gegründet, das Studium, die Wissenschaft und Forschung auf dem Gebiet der Reproduktionsmedizin zu unterstützen. Dazu dient neben den regelmäßigen Jahrestreffen auch die Zeitschrift "Human Reproduction" als publizistisches Rückgrat der Gesellschaft, zusätzlich erscheinen "Molecular Human Reproduction" und "Human Reproduction Update". Ein Newsletter dient der internen Information. Als konstituierendes Organ wählt die Jahreshauptversammlung einen beratenden und einen Exekutivausschuss, der wiederum einen internationalen Ausschuss zur wissenschaftlichen Vorbereitung der Jahrestreffen beruft. Verschiedenen Sonderinteressensgruppen steht jeweils ein Koordinator vor, der wissenschaftliche Veranstaltungen auf dem Spezialgebiet organisiert. Damit will die Gesellschaft die Zusammenarbeit aller auf dem Gebiet der Reproduktionsmedizin und Embryologie Tätigen fördern.

Abstract

The European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) was founded in London on September 2, 1984 with the goal of fostering study, science, and research in the field of reproductive medicine. To that end, the journal "Human Reproduction" serves as the literary adjunct to regular annual meetings supplemented by "Molecular Human Reproduction" and "Human Reproduction Update". A newsletter offers exchange of internal information. As the constituent organ, the annual general assembly elects an advisory committee and an executive committee, which appoints an international committee for scientific preparation of the annual meeting. Various special interest groups are headed by a coordinator who organizes scientific meetings focussing on the particular subject. The society's goal is to stimulate cooperation between all individuals active in the field of reproductive medicine and embryology.
