Zusammenfassung
Das präsakrale, degenerative Schwannom („ancient schwannoma“) ist eine seltene Entität. Die klinische Symptomatik ist unspezifisch, eine sichere präoperative Diagnose ist schwierig zu stellen. Heterogene Raumforderungen mit Kalzifikationen in der MRT/CT werden bei degenerativen Schwannomen beobachtet, sind aber nicht obligat vorhanden. Die Behandlung der Wahl ist die komplette Exzision. Wir berichten von einem 44-jährigen Patienten, der die Exzision einer präsakralen Raumforderung erhielt. Die histopathologische Untersuchung ergab die Diagnose eines Schwannoms mit degenerativ veränderten Anteilen.
Abstract
A presacral, degenerative schwannoma (“ancient schwannoma”) is a rare entity. The clinical signs are nonspecific, and a reliable preoperative diagnosis is difficult. Tumor heterogeneity with calcifications may be seen in degenerated schwannomas on MRI or CT but not necessarily. First-line treatment is complete surgical excision. We present the case of a 44-year-old male who required surgery for a presacral mass. Histopathological examination revealed the diagnosis of a schwannoma with degenerated areas.
