Summary

Complexes of nickel(II), palladium(II) and platinum(II) with the heterocyclic ligands tetrahydroquinoline dithiocarbamate and tetrahydroisoquinoline dithiocarbamate were prepared and characterized. All the complexes have the empirical formula ML2 and i.r. and n.m.r. show that the ligands are isobidentate bonding through the dithiocarbamate sulphurs. The MS4 groups seem to have a square planar arrangement leaving scope for secondary interactions.
