Neues zum Biomonitoring-Auskunftssystem der BAuA

Zusammenfassung

Wer Biomonitoring fachgerecht einsetzen möchte, hat meist einige Fragen zu klären: Welche Parameter stehen für ein Biomonitoring bei einer bestimmten Gefahrstoffexposition zur Verfügung? Wie sind die Messergebnisse zu interpretieren? Gibt es einen einzuhaltenden biologischen Grenzwert? Wie ist die Hintergrundbelastung der Bevölkerung? Gibt es noch andere Beurteilungswerte? Sind die Messergebnisse des beauftragten Labors verlässlich?

Das Biomonitoring-Auskunftssystem der Bundesanstalt für Arbeitsschutz und Arbeitsmedizin (BAuA) unterstützt die Klärung dieser Fragen. Die redaktionell gepflegte und im Internet unter www.baua.de/biomonitoring frei zugängliche Datenbank zählte in den letzten drei Jahren über 10.000 Abfragen. Das System wird stetig aktualisiert und inhaltlich erweitert. Zurzeit werden folgende Daten neu in das System aufgenommen: Referenzwerte zur Gefahrstoff-Hintergrundbelastung der Bevölkerung der USA (NHANES / CDC), Biological Limit Values und Biological Guidance Values des Scientific Committee on Occupational Exposure Limits (SCOEL) der EU, parameterbezogene Angebotsinformationen zur externen Qualitätssicherung in der Biomonitoring-Analytik — Ringversuche im Auftrag der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Arbeitsmedizin und Umweltmedizin (DGAUM).

Abstract

To be able to use biological monitoring properly, one has to clarify some questions: Which parameters in biological monitoring connected to specific hazardous substance exposures are available? How should the test results be interpreted? Is there a binding biological limit value? What are the background levels of the population? Are there any other assessment values? How reliable are the laboratory measurement results?

The “Biomonitoring-Auskunftssystem” of the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) supports the clarification of these issues. The freely accessible database at www.baua.de/biomonitoring counted in the last three years more than 10,000 queries. The system content is continually updated and expanded. The latest update contains: background levels of the U.S. population (NHANES / CDC), Biological Limit Values and Biological Guidance Values of the Scientific Committee on Occupational Exposure Limits (SCOEL) of the European Union and parameter related links to the German quality assessment scheme for occupational-medical and environmental-medical toxicological analyses in biological materials.
