Abstract

The electrically heated catalyst “Emicat” has already proved itself in series applications with the introduction of American ULEV legislation. Due to continuous increase of the efficiency factor of modern engines going together with the reduction of exhaust gas temperatures, increased requirements on fuel consumption and higher demands on exhaust gas treatment it could become a solution for future catalytic converter concepts.
