Nasopharyngeal angiofibroma

Summary

The literature has been briefly reviewed and the age, sex, incidence, origin, lateral extension, recurrence and the therapeutic dilema have been discussed.

Seven cases of nasopharyngeal angiofibroma treated surgically have been reported.

Another case of recurring nasopharyngeal angiofibroma with lateral extension to peterygomaxillary fossa and cheek removed successfully by transpalatal and transmaxillary approaches has been described.

Nasopharyngeal angiofibroma may occur at any age. Recurrence of this tumour is to be expected.
